Welcome To Our Farm

Hi, My Name Is Jackson! Thanks For Checking Out PDXPeppers.com

I Started Gardening In 2015 And From There It Has Just Taken Off. At The End Of 2018, I Became Inspired To Grow A Large Variety Of Peppers. Our Little Urban Farm Has Been Growing Every Year Since! I Started Selling Seedlings In 2019, Seeds In 2020, And Sauces in 2021. This Year You Will Be Able To Find Us Selling Seedlings And Sauces At The St. Johns Farmers Market In North Portland Every Saturday For The Month Of May! Be Sure To Check Out The Online Shop!

PDX PEPPERS GARDEN PRACTICES

Here At PDX Peppers, We Only Used OMRI Certified/Approved For Organic Gardening Inputs.

No Insecticides Or Herbicides Of Any Kind Have Ever Been Used Here At PDX Peppers. Pests Are Managed By Releasing Beneficial Predatory Insects Into The Green Houses In The Early Season And Planting Many Different Flowering Plants That Attract Beneficial Predatory Insects Throughout The Rest Of The Year.

Fungal Issues Are Kept At A Minimum By Foliar Applications Of Home Brewed Actively Aerated Compost Tea Before Plants Start To Flower. In Very Rare Situations, We Will Use Sulfur (which is naturally occurring and a required plant nutrient) To Stop Fungal Outbreaks That Would Otherwise Cause Us To Shut Down. In 2022 The Decision Was Made To Not Spray During A Fungal Outbreak And We Lost The Entire Nursery Stock And Almost Had To Permanently Close Our Doors. To Keep This From Happening Again, We Will Only Use Sulphur If Particular Problems Arise.
